They are just Giving stuff away

If you haven't checked out or heard about the various deals you can get at Walgreen's right now, I highly recommend that you look into it. Walgreen's is becoming my favorite store.

This week (so far) I have gotten free Chex Mix, made $7 and got 3 bottles of Robitusin , and got free Crest Pro Health mouthwash. I think that Money Saving Mom is a great place to find out about these deals, but I've recently started checking Mom's By Heart and she seems to know what's giong on in the Walgreen's world.

The Results...

Whew. I think you can count this one as a success. It was a little rocky at first. I started at the West Des Moines Walgreen's and the casher guy wouldn't give me the new Easy Saver booklet. He said they didn't hand them out until September. I knew that wasn't true, so I left and went to the Ankeny Walgreen's. Ha. I win. Here's the breakdown:

Puff's Tissues: $1.39 - $0.50 (Walgreen's flyer coupon) = $0.89

Walgreen's Acid Control: $7.99 - $7.99 (WG Rebate) = $0.00

Dawn Dish Soap: $1.99 - $1.00 (WG flyer coupon) - $0.50 (manufacturer's coupon) = $0.49

L'Oreal Advanced RevitalLift Anti-Wrinkle: $12.36 - $12.36 (WG rebate) = $0.00

Nivea Men's Body Wash: $4.99 - $1.00 (manufacturer's coupon) - $4.99 (WG rebate) = -$1.00

Edge Shaving Gel: $2.99 - $1.00 (WG coupon) - $0.75 (manufacturer's coupon) = $1.24

Chemistry Conditioner: $7.99 - $7.99 (WG rebate) = $0.00

Revlon Nail Care: $4.79 - $4.79 (WG rebate) = $0.00

Crest Pro-Health (our favorite toothpaste): $3.79 - $3.79 (WG rebate) = $0.00

LypSyl Honey Berry LypMoistureizer: $1.99 - $1.99 (WG rebate) = $0.00

Purex Laundry Detergent: $3.19 - $0.50 (manufacturer's coupon) = $2.69

Gallon Milk: $3.19

Super Sweet Walgreen's Coupon: $10 off $40 purchase = -$10.00

Results: After rebates, I will have come out exactly even because tax was $2.46. I feel good about this because I got some things free even without the rebates (milk, laundry soap, shaving gel, tissues, dish soap) I just wanted to make sure that I hit my $40 so that I could use the $10 off coupon. Remember that this $10 off coupon is only good Friday and Saturday. I LOVE FREE THINGS!

I did debate on the anti wrinkle cream, but ended up getting it after they were out of a rebate item that I was planning on getting. I guess I'm 29 now, so I should keep those wrinkles under control.

And you'll have to forgive me. I don't always remember where my manufacturer's coupons come from. I'll try and be better at that.

Walgreen's Potential

Not sure if anyone else is as excited as I am about the potential savings that Walgreen's could bring. Right now they have a $10 off a $40 purchase coupon http://www.walgreens.com/hotbuys/default.jsp?ec=hn583_getcoupon and it is between the August and September rebate programs so you can cash in on both. If you haven't checked out some of the scenarios on some of our favorite coupon blogs, I implore you to do so. I am going to put my list together tonight and hopefully it will work. I'll let you know.
